Supergiant Reacts to Hades’ Best Game of 2020 Win

If you’ve seen any Hades gameplay, it should be clear why the newest release from Supergiant Games is something special. Hades was voted IGN Game of the Year by IGN staff, and Supergiant’s team found out in the most heartwarming way possible: a surprise reveal. Supergiant studio director Amir Rao gathered up the entire development team behind Hades — the first time they had all been gathered together on a meeting since the pandemic shutdown their studio — to reveal the exciting news, and the response is priceless.

IGN’s Hades review calls it a “one-of-a-kind rogue-lite that sets the bar for creatively combining wildly different genres together and using their strengths to complement each other in unexpected ways.” In addition to IGN GOTY, Hades was also named IGN’s Best Action Game of 2020.
