If you just finished watching Zack Snyder’s Justice League on HBO Max (release date March 18, 2021), then you may be wondering what’s supposed to happen next in the Snyderverse. As many DC fans and fans of director Zack Snyder may already know, the planned Justice League trilogy following the Snyder Cut is no longer happening. That said, the newly released Justice League Snyder Cut still sets up not only two more sequels but also other films in the Snyderverse–Ben Afffleck’s solo Batman film, Ezra Miller’s solo film The Flash, and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg film. In this video we’ll cover what was supposed to happen in Justice League 2 and 3, Batfleck’s Batman movie, The Flash and Cyborg movies.

While DC fans might not get Snyder’s Justice League sequels as originally planned, the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement at least got them the Snyder Cut itself on HBO Max. Snyder has been generously sharing details of what would have happened in Justice League 2 and 3, should the Snyderverse have continued. He’s talked about how the heroes of Earth would take the fight to Darkseid (Ray Porter) on Apokalips, the Knightmare future first seen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice would become reality (as shown when Bruce Wayne/Batman comes face to face with Jared Jeto’s Joker not seen since Suicide Squad), how that would have been caused by Batman failing to protect Lois Lane, the death of Lois Lane and Superman succumbing to the Anti-Life Equation and becoming evil Superman for Darkseid, Kevin Smith added that the Justice League sequels plot would also feature the New Gods and the Green Lantern Corps (and yes that was a dead Kilowog Easter egg in the destroyed Justice League headquarters after Superman killed Batman), and then in the end Clark Kent and Lois Lane would be saved by Batman sacrificing himself thanks to Flash’s tip, thus preventing the Knightmare future and creating a new timeline where the final Justice League sequel jumps 20 years into the future where Lois and Clark raise their son to be the new Batman.

Speaking of Batman, we cover what was supposed to happen in Ben Affleck’s Batman movie, which was set up by Deathstroke (Joe Manganiello) visiting Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) on the yacht in the Snyder Cut epilogue and the bald Superman villain revealed Batman’s true identity, Bruce Wayne. Manganiello also shared what to expect in this Snyderverse spin-off that, unfortunately, has since been canceled.

However, The Flash movie starring Ezra Miller is still set to release in 2022, but due to director and writer changes over the years, it’s a vastly different movie than the one ZSJL set up. The Snyder Cut does have Iris West (Kiersey Clemons) and she’ll be returning as Barry Allen’s love interest in the Snydeverse sequel The Flash, but Barry’s dad will no longer be played by Billy Crudup due to a scheduling conflict. The Flash movie is not canceled but it will be very different compared to what was originally planned, although it will still use the Flashpoint DC comic as inspiration for its story, which may allow it to alter the Snyderverse forever.

Finally, we touch on what the plan was for Ray Fisher’s Cyborg and how he was going to get a solo movie and a role in the Flash solo movie but both are reportedly no longer happening. Cyborg was the heart of the Justice League and it seemed clear from the Knightmare vision that he was destined to go on to play a big role in the Justice League sequels and in the Snyderverse at large.
