Let. Them. Fight! Godzilla vs. Kong is now streaming on HBO Max and right away it’s clear: This was definitely the Titan-sized slugfest Godzilla and Kong fans have been clamoring for BUT…as some fans suspected there is a secret villain reveal in this movie that truly changes everything. Directed by Adam Wingard, this movie is big, it’s epic and it definitely settles the argument of who is the deadlier Titan. But where does Legendary’s Monsterverse go after this? Join host Jesse B. Gill for Canon Fodder on IGN for the full Godzilla vs Kong breakdown and the Godzilla vs. Kong ending explained.

Ok…spoiler alert but now that we’re past the first paragraph can we say his name? MechaGodzilla is definitely the secret villain of this movie. So that means you got a lot more than you bargained for if you showed up just to watch Godzilla vs Kong. MechaGodzilla is so much of a threat that Godzilla and Kong (who’s off chilling on Skull Island) realize that both their moms are named Martha and they should team up to fight the deadly Titan-sized mech. Fans spotted MechaGodzilla in the Godzilla vs. Kong trailer, when they tuned in to watch Kong vs. Godzilla and were treated to lightning-quick glimpses of Mecha Godzilla.

Powered by the skull of the fallen King Ghidorah, MechaGodzilla lays waste to Hong Kong after a Godzilla vs Kong battle, and the situation quickly escalates into a pretty major emergency. Awesome battle monsters like MechaGodzilla treat fans to something new, rockstars like Godzilla and Kong are the ones who have to do a Godzilla v Kong full fight in order to set things right. So simple answer? Yeah…Godzilla beats Kong.

The first Godzilla vs Kong fight goes to Godzilla, who almost drowns Kong. The second Godzilla vs Kong full fight first goes to Kong, but then swings back to Godzilla. So if you’re on YouTube searching Godzilla vs Kong who wins, the clear answer to that query is Godzilla. You know what happens when Kong brings a mythical battle axe to an atomic breath fight? He gets shot! But of course all of the Godzilla vs Kong stuff is just a set up for Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla or Godzilla vs Kong Mecha Godzilla.

GvK stars Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Bryan Tyree Henry and the Skullcrawlers from Kong: Skull Island. Even MechaGodzilla can’t step to the combined power of Godzilla vs. Kong and once it’s Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla it’s pretty much game over. Hope you’re not down here looking for a Godzilla vs Kong after-credits scene, because you’re out of luck.
