I first picked up a Sega Saturn back in 2016 and in that time it has taken the spot for my favorite Sega console! Despite its limitations, the Saturn has a number of games I really enjoy and the multiplat releases on the hardware fascinate me to no end. Unfortunately, the disk drive in my real Saturn has died so I now have to use emulation if I want to play the system. Thankfully Saturn emulation has come a long way in the last few years and doing so is an enjoyable experience. In this video, I cover how to get Saturn emulation up and running on the PC version of Retroarch using the Beetle Saturn core. Beetle Saturn is still the most accurate way to play Saturn games on a PC but does have a high CPU requirement. It also doesn’t feature any upscaling found on some of the newer Saturn cores. I also touch on how to get a Retro-Bit USB Sega Saturn controller running accurately to the real deal as well!
