SEGA Retro Revivals, Visions of Mana & Donkey Kong Country Theme Park!

This week in retro gaming, we saw the first details revealed for the new expansion to the Super Nintendo World theme park in Japan which is based on the Donkey Kong series! It’s going to feature a mine cart ride and tons of DK related merch and activities to take part in as you explore.

We also had some major retro gaming revival announcements at The Game Awards 2023, with SEGA revealing gameplay of five upcoming games based on some of their series’ which have laid dormant for years. Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage and Crazy Taxi are all getting rebooted and they promise that there’s even more to come.

The newest game in the Mana series was also revealed with it looking as if it takes inspiration from the Kingdom Hearts and recent Final Fantasy games in terms of combat, but while maintaining it’s own sense of style with the visuals. This is called Visions of Mana and looks like it’s going to be a something to keep an eye on in 2024.
