How to Backup & Play PS2 Games on PS3HEN! – No PKG Conversion Required

One limitation of PS3HEN compared to CFW is the inability to directly launch PS2 games in ISO format. Due to this, many of the existing methods for CFW will not work on PS3HEN, as PS3HEN requires a PS2 ISO to be encrypted in order to play. Although I’ve covered this before, the previous method I showcased required a PC and a Windows tool to create an installable PKG file out of a PS2 game. This method differs as it shows how you can backup a PS2 game on the PS3 itself, encrypt it, and mount it through the preferred webMAN MOD as opposed to doing an install! This will require you to have PSN activated on your PS3HEN console, as well as the basic knowledge of transferring a PKG over to your console to install.

This video assumes you already own a console modified with PS3HEN. It is also assumed the viewer has a basic understanding of how to navigate their console.
