The Best Switch Controller is a Phone Controller

The GameSir G8 Plus is an excellent Bluetooth telescopic controller for your phone or tablet; but what I didn’t expect is that it’s actually my favorite way to play the Nintendo Switch in handheld mode too. When you factor in its price (MSRP $80, the same as a set of official Joy-Cons) along with wide compatibility, it’s easily one of the best controller purchases out there.
