The Problem with External GPUs and Handhelds

The new ONEXGPU 2 should be the ideal external GPU setup — it’s got the latest Radeon RX 7800M mobile GPU, and it provides about 50% more performance compared to their previous eGPU solution. But it really just highlights the inherent problems with trying to set up a handheld eGPU experience today. So let’s talk about why eGPUs are so frustratingly close to being good, and where they could go in the future.
