This week in retro gaming, Analogue have once again revealed a new piece of hardware. This time however, it’s not just a variant of their popular Pocket handheld and is instead a brand new device called the Analogue 3D which is their take on the Nintendo 64. It’s going to run actual cartridges from any region at a 4K video resolution and even comes with a fancy new wireless controller with a modern design.

Mario’s new voice actor featured in Super Mario Bros. Wonder has been announced as Kevin Afghani, an interesting choice considering he seems to be fairly new to the scene, but from what we’ve heard so far he seems to be fitting into the role extremely well.

We’re also very excited to say that our premium coffee table book ‘A Handheld History’ is now available to buy on Amazon! If you’re a fan of portable gaming, then this is the book for you. It features stunning artwork and illustrations by Stephen Maurice Graham, loads of photos of your favourite systems and of course tons of essays which dive deep into what makes all of these devices so awesome!
