re3, a decompilation project dedicated to Grand Theft Auto III, has been ported over to the Switch in the form of re3-nx by AGraber. Requiring you to bring your own PC build of the game, this allows for Switch consoles running custom firmware to have the complete GTA3 experience! As cool as this is: How playable is re3-nx? Is this only a proof of concept? Is it worth spending time on? This episode of Homebrew Review summarizes my time with this unofficial port of GTA3 and aims to answer those questions!
This review and footage recorded was made using the 24.09.2020 release of re3-nx. Keep this in mind as many issues I discuss may be resolved in more current or future releases.
