Over 15 years ago I held in my hands a copy of the “Arabic Edition” of Resident Evil 4, a fanmade mod attempting to localize the game for Middle East. What I observed from this fanmade version of the game was certainly a valiant effort, but admittedly a bit rough to say the least. I’ve explained this to friends over the years, and maybe even once here on the channel on ModChat, but I figured I would never see this mod again… Until now! In the best and worst ways, reexperiencing this version of the game put a dumb smile on my face which resulted in me feeling the need to share my experiences with you all. Enjoy a bit of a personal story, some historical retellings, and some pain for any headphone users out there.
