San Andreas doesn’t run well on Xbox Series S. The FPS is fine and the overall experience is smooth. But the Shadows run terrible with Direct X 11. This would be much easier to fix on PC with all the extra plugins available from Downloading PCSX. Hopefully in the future RetroArch can include some of these features.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is a Rockstar North-developed video game released on 26th October 2004 by Rockstar Games, and is the seventh title in the Grand Theft Auto series and the third game in the 3D Universe title of the series. It is the sequel to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and the prequel to Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Grand Theft Auto III. It was released on the same date as Grand Theft Auto Advance. GTA San Andreas is set in the fictional state of San Andreas.

By far the largest and most complex playing field of any 3D Universe game, San Andreas consists of three fully-realized cities: Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas, and includes vast expanses of countryside, forests, a desert, and even a mountain and many hills. The game is centered around the return of Carl Johnson (also known as CJ) to his gang (the Grove Street Families), and their subsequent return to power.

On November 11, 2021, the game was re-released on 8th and 9th generation consoles for in honor of Grand Theft Auto III’s 20-year anniversary under the title Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition, included in the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition bundle.

PCSX2 is a free and open-source PlayStation 2 emulator for Windows, Linux, and macOS[6] that supports a wide range of PlayStation 2 video games with a high level of compatibility and functionality. Although PCSX2 can closely mirror the original gameplay experience on the PlayStation 2, PCSX2 supports a number of improvements over gameplay on a traditional PlayStation 2, such as the ability to use custom resolutions up to 8192×8192, anti-aliasing, and texture filtering.

PCSX2, like its predecessor project PCSX (a PlayStation emulator), is based on a PSEmu Pro spec plug-in architecture, separating several functions from the core emulator. These are the graphics, audio, input controls, CD/DVD drive, and USB and FireWire (i.LINK) ports. Different plug-ins may produce different results in both compatibility and performance. Additionally, PCSX2 requires a genuine copy of the PS2 BIOS, which is not available for download from the developers due to copyright-related legal issues. Since September 2016, PCSX2 is partially compatible with PlayStation games.[7]
