Right now all eyes are on Sony’s next console, PlayStation 5. But as we look back on the eighth generation, and PS4 specifically, we really have to appreciate what this console meant to Sony’s business. PlayStation 4 represents a U-turn at the company, with everyone being laser focused on getting it right. And when you look beyond the initial sales, you see some of Sony’s most dynamic initiatives in PlayStation history, from the mid-cycle PS4 Pro, to PSVR, and even PlayStation Now. It really feels like another PS1, setting a foundation for what will be the future of the brand. So let’s talk that legacy!
